Who are we?

Hi Guys!

Ukwenza VR is a company that uses virtual reality to educate the younger generation about wildlife through a new lens and help them appreciate and care for it. The goal is to then guide them towards actionable conservation activities they can start doing in their own communities and begin changing the capitalistic narrative that has existed in Kenya for many generations.

Who are we?

Ukwenza VR is a company that uses virtual reality to educate the younger generation about wildlife through a new lens and help them appreciate and care for it. The goal is to then guide them towards actionable conservation activities they can start doing in their own communities and begin changing the capitalistic narrative that has existed in Kenya for many generations.

What do we do?

As content creators, we develop educational short films that teach students about the role of different species in nature. The content also teaches the students about several conservation practices that are easy to implement in their own communities, and keeps them involved in the environmental world.

Our histroy

Ukwenza VR started its operations in April 2018 after winning the national AR/VR Hackathon. The company then became a part of Panda Labs, a group from the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that supports global innovators and problem-solvers to help discover solutions to the world’s environmental issues. Ever since the pandemic, Ukwenza VR has continued to develop the business remotely, and is excited to return to the schools soon!

Ukwenza VR Mission

The mission of Ukwenza VR is to create immersive, engaging and impactful VR content about environmental education. The content is targeted for children at the secondary school level, with the goal of helping them understand and appreciate the role of different species in nature, and guide them towards conservation. In the long run, we hope to make an impact on the African youth in order to ensure a sustainable and eco-conscious future.
